Well, here we go AGAIN

Jeanne is supposed to hit us sometime late tonite and through tomorrow. Winds at 115mph now and expected to grow.

I've got the routine down. Fill the bilge on the boat. Fill the tub with water. Fill all the pitchers with water. Make ice. Clear the patio. Cook all the meat in the freezer. Stock up on beer.

BEER !?! Almost forgot!!!!

Gotta go...

The eye is just a gnat's a$$ off the coast, at Ft Pierce. Winds at 100-120mph (catagory 3). Heading more west, less NW, than thought a couple of hours ago. Bad news. 2000+ already dead, along the path. YES 2000!!!!

Guess it's a'gonna be an all nighter again. Due here just before dawn.

Sun 1:30PM
Well, Jeanne is definitly here. The eye's wall is only about 30 nautical miles ENE of here and heading NW. Winds have been steady around 35-40 mph for the past 4 hours, gusts up past 60 every few minutes. This is working out to be just like Frances.

The worst will be coming when the eye passes and the southern bands start swinging back around. It will be out on the Gulf then and feeding on the Gulf's water. Then the tide surge will come in. We got about 18" of seawall to go. That's not alot of room to play with.

I went out and moved my jeep a couple of hours ago, to get it out from beside a large tree. My neighbor now wishes he had too. 2003 Sebring soft top. Gone.

Hoo Boy It's getting fun now!!

Wind at 40-50 steady, Gust up to 75
Rain bands are constant and look to last at least another 6-8 hrs

Waves off the coast at 14-16'

Heavy rain

The canal is choppy and full of debris

widespread power outage, 2/3 of all the county is out

A Brown Pelican has found refuge inside my fenced patio and is ducking the wind in bewteen the fence and deck shed.

And you're still on the computer? Heck, hubby makes me shut down the computer if it even looks like it's going to drizzle. Something about surges.

Stay safe, you and the pelican both. :D

Power is in and out. 175,000 out right now.
The wind just has not let off. STILL Tropical force.

I actually ducked out a little while ago, during a lull, and checked on the boat. A couple of hatches have been ripped off the hinges, so far. The boat next to mine is off the trailer.

The water in the canal has stayed level, but high tide is due around midnight.

I'm tired

Running low on beer :(

He Gunner,

Thanks for slowing this one down for us and diverting it towards Georgia!

We move 73 dump truck loads of sand out of our little communitity road today (this is really starting to add up!)

Keep your powder dry

I just woke up a couple of hours ago. I was so tired I slept for almost 11 hrs.

It just doesn't seem right.

The skies are blue, not a cloud, just a nice breeze. Perfect Day!!

The damage on the boat is minor. Wish the guy next to me could say the same. I'm still trying to figure how the hell he's going to get it back on the trailer. Not only did he NOT fill the bilge, for extra weight, he didn't even strap it down!

250,000 still without power in the county. 2.5 million across the state. It may take up to a month to get it all fixed.

Anybody do silk screen T Shirts?
