Looks like a good bedding job and I’m sure it will be more consistent now.
Have you ever used vinyl tape? I prefer it now as the finished product comes out much smoother than painters tape.

Never have. I’ll give it a try next time.

I put bedding about 1-1.5” forward of the lug, but put a single layer of tape to give a full free float.

There was enough side pressure on the left side that the stock paint was worn. You can see the mark above the recoil lug.
 
Taking a break before pie so I cracked it open. Not my cleanest job, I brain farted on the prep work so I have some Dremel work to do. Also didn’t get quiiiite enough on the rear pillar.

I was waffling on painting it, now it’s a firm yes to clean up some screw ups. Nice and tight though.

Three coats of matte clear coat, now cure for a couple of weeks.

Tip of the flat brim to @MTLabrador. Like a teenage girl, I texted him from Ace Hardware, “gray or tan bruh?”

His advice was impeccable, much like his taste in pickups and hunting partners.
