A Glenwood Springs man was arrested Tuesday after he admitted stabbing his brother in the neck with a hunting knife in a fight in their mother’s basement.
It all started, Aaron Laemmel, 24, told police, when his 27-year-old brother William accused Aaron of dumping Cheetos on William’s bed.
Police learned of the incident when William Laemmel was admitted to Valley View Hospital, the arrest affidavit reports.
Although able to speak, William declined a full interview and told police that he didn’t want charges filed. He told them the incident had occurred in their mother’s basement where the pair lived and happened during an argument about “stupid stuff.”
Aaron Laemmel later told police about the Cheetos accusation, and said the confrontation turned physical, ultimately resulting in William’s neck wound and a cut on Aaron’s leg.
Aaron Laemmel was released on a $15,000 bond and will likely face charges for first-degree assault and menacing.
