At first I tried to rationalize that this buck got nailed in the eyesocket by another buck, and what we are looking at is the remnants of another buck's antler and a portion of it's skull. Don't think so...
I went round and round dreaming up a theroy of how this buck wound up this way. Then it dawned on me... that's not a broken off antler and a hunk of skull hanging out of his eye. It's a freak droptine, even though I know that the "injured in a fight" theroy is alot more entertaining to think about.
That green gack oozing out of his eye can't have been doing him any good.
