Is Bennet worse than polis? I don’t know

Definitely not.

Hick and Bennet are both fairly moderate democrats and I would think Bennet as governor would look similar to Hickenlooper as governor. Hickenlooper helped pave the way for some gun control BS but I would not categorize him as anti hunting at all (remember he used to go to One Shot). The Polis admin is basically blatantly anti hunting. Who knows if Bennet would take on a new form if be became governor though. The scary thing is that Polis kind of took on a new form as governor, he's generally been far more moderate than he was as a congressman IMO. I guess really the radical side of Polis just operates more behind the scenes now.

I'd take Bennet in a heart beat over Polis.

My sources are saying are Phil Weiser is the most pro outdoor related activity candidate and one that the democrats should strongly consider to help protect our hunting and fishing activities in CO.

I hope my message is loud and clear. When you vote within your state or county - you better focus on selecting the best candidate that represents your outdoor lifestyle, regardless of your political affiliation! Our hunting and fishing privileges are at stake and being controlled by the candidates on the front range. Meanwhile most of our existing representatives do not hunt or fish or every care to try it - they would rather see bike paths, dog parks, and homeless camps.

Great question, hard to say but it would really be hard to be worse than Polis on hunting. Appointments like Beaulieu, Murphy, Rosmarino were so extreme and likely damaging to sportsmen and women for many years to come. His office and advisors truly shut out the sportsmen community. Publicly Bennet tries to at least portray himself as more “outdoorsy” than Polis ever was. Bennet is a Hickenlooper acolyte so you have to assume similar policy decisions and appointments. That could be an improvement. I don’t believe Bennet’s spouse is a prominent anti-hunting, anti-agriculture activist either. The other big question is how much of Polis’ staff will stay on in the front office and at various agencies. Would love to see the Republicans mount a serious challenge. Colorado is a much better place as a purple state.

That’s really interesting. What are they basing that evaluation on? Does Weiser have a specific adviser with ties to the hunting/fishing/outdoor community? I am not trying to dispute it, just curious. With most of his time in the legal field and as CU law dean, we don’t have much of a political record to look at. I know he likes to sue the federal gov’t a lot.

I will private message you or anyone else can private message me about Phil Weiser. I am not endorsing him, but if I was die hard democrat he aligns better with sportsman by far than the other candidates.
