That is a brilliant idea! Showed my wife this and we both agree that's probably the best graduation present ever. We may be borrowing this idea.

We have the same deal with our daughters, they each get a trip when they graduate. With one caveat: Disney is out of the question, not a chance!

thanks for posting...wife & I flying into Calgary next week, then 2 nights in Bamff, 2 nights Jasper, night in Canmore & 2 nights at Calgary Stampede. cant wait. first trip there. would appreciate any tips especially dinner spots, lake to rent a canoe & catch a trout, etc. think I bought a Big Agnes from u a few years ago. thanks, Gerald

This was a wonderful week for my family in a time of change. For those of you that have had children grow into adulthood, this is old news. For Allison & me, this is uncharted water and a time of many conflicting emotions. Thankful for this week together before the young man leaves home.

We did not. Also didn’t make it to Floe Lake, which was on the original itinerary. I guess that means I need to go back.

What’s gonna be pricey is that 21-day BC mixed bag hunt as a follow up, since, you know, I now have the Canadian Rockies on my mind. Any tips on how to sell that idea to my better half?

Hey Gerald, I’ve never sold a Big Agnes, but I wish you the best on your trip. Sounds like a good time! We actually didn’t fish at all. Hiked a bunch and took a lot of pictures. Rented a canoe on Emerald Lake in Yoho but just for the fun of it. I’m far from an expert on the area, but we ate a very, very good meal at the timeless Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. Just seeing the grand structure is sort of an experience in itself. I know the drive from Banff to Jasper is supposed to be wonderful. Haven’t done it yet, so I’ll be waiting on your report!
