Caitlin Clark finally

Recently, I have enjoyed watching the women’s game over the men’s.
As a child and a young man I assumed basketball was a team sport. More and more the men’s game is a team of individuals. Both leagues will continue this devolution of concept as time goes by.
The all star break was always a celebration of individual skills, 3 pointers and slam dunks. The more the actual game mirrors the break, the less enjoyable it is for this 60 year old man.
That said. I like to see the ladies get fired up and collect rebounds. I like to see the hard fouls and 3s from down town. Maybe I’m just a hypocrite/lunatic.

Don't be an asshat. If you don't care, just move along. But right now ...just STFU!

It's easy to be an asshat when retards like yourself and others think this is important. You lknow who the clown is...yeah, it's not me , it's buzz and others who "worry" about such nonsense with more important things going on in the world. I get it, I stepped into a "sports" thread, but wow...ya'll need better things to do.

Just so we are all clear here, you are so outraged over a post about sports in the Sports Fans section that you think it’s worth your time and energy to post a response? Then double down and lecture “buzz and others” for worrying “about such nonsense?” Hard to get much more nonsensical than posting responses (two now, and money says you aren’t done because you strike me as someone who will fight hard for the last word) about something you feel is nonsense.

I think we all know why you posted on this thread - women. Searching your posts, I can’t find anywhere in the last 6 months where you critiqued any men’s sports. However, you jumped all over this one. Why is that?

Why, because as soon as I saw Clark’s name I said someone needs to say who cares. Aren’t you all tired of the BS her and all of the other women players cause? I’ll leave the thread alone now and leave y’all to your Clark antics and attention…

I recommend some salve for your feel bads and red ass.

I see you came back for the last word as predicted. Couldn’t “leave the thread alone” without taking a parting shot.

“BS her and all the other women players cause?”

Careful, your misogyny is peeking through that thin veil again.

I think it's a well calculated move to bring more attention to the sport. It sucks more in than it drives away.

That said, the only women's basketball I've ever watched were my younger sister's games. Nothing but the majesty of watching a man-sized and strengthed woman with little awareness that almost all other women are smaller than her run with reckless abandon around the court. It kind of reminded me of those old "Terry Tate, Office Linebacker" commercials.

Actually, Clark doesn't make any controversial comments at all, and only causes good for the WNBA. You'd know that if you followed the WNBA. Sure, there are a few people who are full of BS, but no more than any other sport.

I expect the WNBA will pull back, start calling fouls, and be more like college. Their players aren't holding up to making basketball a contact sport.

... a talented point guard, Jada Davis, is predicted to lead the Bozeman Gallatin High School double A team to a second consecutive state title.
Sure enough, Jada Davis did not need a lower rim to score 23 points as the Gallatin HS RAPTORS won the championship game to earn the AA Montana State High School girls basketball title a second year in a row, culminating in an undefeated season!

Sweet! She sounds like a baller!

Just to clarify- my comment on the concept of a lower rim wasn’t meant to be a dig on the WNBA. It was an observation that there are many examples of different equipment/settings for male vs female in other sports (lower hurdles, smaller balls, lower ski jumps etc.). The women's three-point line is different than the men’s one, for a better example.

Clark's average 3 pointer is 28.7 feet.

Steph Curry about 27 feet.

That might explain why his make percentage is significantly higher.

She’s amazing and fun to watch, don’t get me wrong. But she is not shy to let it fly…

NBA doesn't play chit for defense...another reason for the closer 3's and higher percentage.

The defense in the NBA is so awesome they score 227 points a game...boring.

Curry has a career 3-pt % of 42.2%.

Caitlin Clark's is 32.9% with a ball that based on size makes it "easier to make".

Agree, no comparison.
And Curry has been doing it for 20 plus years. In game winning scenarios. Not even in the same conversation. mtmuley
