I spent 10 days on the prairies of Montana hunting some big game and birds. I hit a few old spots and hunted with some friends along the way to my end destination in the eastern part of the state. Once I was where I wanted to be for exploration and hunting, It was easy pickings. Hunted roosters 3 mornings, and limited out easily every day. Once the blizzard hit the birds were holding so tight it took a good flushing dog to work them out. One morning Chase flushed over a 100 hens before he finally put up a Rooster. Watching him work was awesome. He flushed hundreds of birds and we never lost any that hit the ground. He's only 18 months old but I think he's a pretty darn good bird dog.
We did a little duck hunting too. Easy limit in under an hour of 3 gadwall, a mallard, a shoveler, and a widgeon.
