I know it’s fall and I’m supposed to be thinking about elk…and I am…but I’d like to get a Merriams for Thanksgiving with my bow this fall. Who on here has a back yard full that wouldn’t mind me sitting behind a hay bale and shooting one. Don’t hold out on me now, dig deep. Seriously though PM me any pointers. I have a couple spots that I’m planning on checking but not opposed to help

I shot one turkey here in the Root. Was pretty underwhelming. Haven't hunted them since. Knock on doors. Folks are sick of them around here. mtmuley

The turkeys in the root are the ugly Easterns. Knock on doors would be your best bet. Good luck

Some Bitterroot yard birds. My dog had to watch them invade his yard daily so I'd let him retrieve one or two a year for his enjoyment.

Sone were brazen enough to let me know when the bird feeder was empty. Your chances of being murdered by a turkey are slim but not zero.
