Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Bipod? Shooting sticks? Backpack?

Just throwing it out there, the original post was regarding an Antelope hunt. I've killed a few of those critters and recall open country with sage void of many trees.

It’s still very easy to find yourself in a position where you can’t shoot prone and clear grass/sage. Short bipods might get you halfway up the sage.

Just wondering, how many of you guy's really know how to use a military sling and get yourself in a good shooting position?

The OP was asking about hunting pronghorn. In the case of pronghorn I've found that the wind is the biggest problem when trying to shoot without support. I've been on a couple of hunts where I had to shoot kneeling or sitting and couldn't get steady enough, even using a sling, because the wind was blowing me and the gun around too much.
