Big Rutting Bucks

Now that I live in Utah, Antelope Island is just about 25 minutes from my home. I went out there today to see what kind of deer I might find. I found several nice bucks, but these two were close enough for some pics. They were rutting, but the big boys weren't really getting after it. I think I'll go out again next week.

First deer of the day was this 30+ inch 3 point.


I saw what I am pretty sure was the same buck in this same spot last year rutting does. Here is last year's pics.

Yeah it is a nice place to hang out and see some critters! I live off Antelope road and we visit a lot.

No sheep, but lots of bison, some antelope, and probably 6 coyotes. Thought I had spotted some sheep up by some rocks and cliffs. Put the spotter on them and it was two nice muley bucks.

Last time I was on the Island, we were putting sheep in a net to be airlifted for a reintroduction. That was on the side of the Island that isn't open to public cars. Thanks for sharing the pics.
