This appears to be one of the harshest punishment I've read about. Although it still doesn't seem like enough I don't know what else to really do.

I've never understood what revoking hunting privileges does to poachers.

My guess is, they still hit the hills every fall. And whenever they get checked, they're "out hunting for coyotes" or something.

I think so, Just would like to have seen something other than was released on parole... Would seem better to me if they had him spend at least a couple months in lock up... Maybe it was part of the plea agreement. Hard to say, regardless... $100K+ in fines is no laughing matter.

Though, I suppose the good news is at 5yrs Parole, we should be looking at felony level charges for both. So, they can no longer own firearms... That should help keep them out of the field.

The second guy had a previous prison sentence, which means he was probably already a convicted felon.

As it turns out, law breakers aren't real good at following laws.

That's about the same as expecting a ciminal to buy a handgun legally so he can go through background check.
