Banking

Stopped at a Wells Fargo branch today at lunch to deposit an expense check. Walked straight up to the counter with no waiting. I got this, "Sir, did you not read the sign on the door?"
What sign? Obviously you assumed I can read (grin). "Sir, it is for your safety and ours. You are supposed to remove your hat and sunglasses upon entering the bank." Wanting to ask if the sign said anything about removing my weapon, but guessing things would have gone DOWN hill real fast. The young teller and I had quite a humorus conversation before I left discussing corporate health and safety (big thing now).
Any other banks doing this?

It's polite to remove one's hat when inside. Glasses inside too?, are you a rapper..... wearing shades indoors

I understand the sunglasses inside, I think it's just polite, but removing your hat? I'm sensitive about my protruding scalp. I did go through the drive through on my motorcycle a few weeks ago and didn't remove my helmet, I was only making a deposit though.

I'm with you though, no worries about the 1911 on my hip.

Weren't shades. Prescription bi-fo. Usually leave hats in vehicle (per dad) unless raining.

I'm sure anything that connotes description avoidance is frowned upon. The pants comment was more of a raincoat and black socks jest.

Never had an issue here in Nevada but we allow prostitution and gambling as well so I guess we will catch up in 200 years or so.

I tried this with my chick magnet sunglasses once and was on the floor handcuffed before I could say "I'd like to make a deposit please".

A few months ago I was installing some casework at a local bank. Most of it was on the teller line, and we weren't starting until after the bank closed.

I get there about 5 minutes before the branch closed, as I walked in(with an arm load of tools) the guard politely asks me to remove my hat. About 30 minutes later the tellers leave, 5 minutes after they leave I look up and notice they left the vault open. I say to my apprentice, "Good thing I took my hat off..."

Nice thing about living in a town of 800 people.... no matter what I wore they would know it was me... LOL!!!

happened to me here in boise but was not a wells fargo.

I dated a girl who now works at my bank (Wells Fargo)...I use the ATM now so she doesn't know how much $ I was hiding from her. I don't remember seeing a sign to take off hat/glasses.

Dad was a military man so hats off at the door or you got your ass whooped.
