Autism/Diabeties services in northern rockies.

Hey guys, I hope everyone had a great Christmas with your families this year. I am looking for some insight/advice from people who deal with type 1 diabetes and/or ASD that live in MT, ID, and/or, WY. My wife and I are contemplating an exit strategy from CO late 2020, early 2021, and I am just trying to make sure we have all the information prior to a decision. One of the main things keeping us here in CO, is the services my Autistic son gets here, and I don't want to short change him for my own selfish gain.

I'd love to talk to someone who lives in one of these states about their experience.

I would think Boise, ID would give you the most access to health care in that 3 state area. Followed by Missoula, Bozeman, and Billings in Montana and the Cheyenne area of Wyoming because of its proximity to the Front Range of Colorado.

We live an hour from Bozeman, but our small town has a hospital/clinic for our routine visits and urgent needs. Luckily we don’t have any serious health issues.

I recently had dinner with a couple who's grandson has autism. He lives in Laramie, and the family has been pleasantly surprised by the amount of support he can get in town. You're never more than 5 minutes from the hospital in town.

I've got the beetus. The Flathead valley has good healthcare, but not great elk hunting.

I am an hour west of Laramie and I second rwc101's comments. There are fairly good services in Laramie and Cheyenne (45 minutes away from Laramie). We are also relatively close (~2 hours or less) to Ft. Collins, and Northern Denver for major services. I work in the school systems and as far as that is concerned most schools are top notch and do extremely well to serve students of all needs.
