Hey folks,
I got lucky enough to draw a cow archery tag in the ely area of nevada. I hunted the same unit last year and filled my cow tag with a rifle at 17 yards in October.
Just curious if elk will deal with coming lower for water in a limited water area like nevada when is still hot out. There are higher springs that are hit or miss but I was really successful lower down later in the season, I'm contemplating abandoning my lower water source even though it's consistent.
This will be my first archery hunt, and I've practiced a lot. I'm out on a wildland fire assignment that will keep me from scouting before my hunt. Any hot weather archery cow advice would be welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Adam
