It reminds me of a story from back in the day. A old man by the name of Marvin moved to the Anaconda area. To put it blunt he was an old dufus. Wayne, my hunting mentor worked at Yellow Freight with him, and took him under his wing. I had to routinely ride with him in his truck because he and Wayne both liked to drive their big ol’ diesels. He’d tell the same cow elk story every time. It was great the first time…., but GOD!

He drew a Mill Creek Bull Moose after just a few years of putting in. After the 7 year waiting period he drew the same tag on the first shot! He got great bulls both times. However, the second bull was shot and killed in the middle of a pond! Wayne’s son had to trudge out into the pond with a rope to hook up to a mule. It was quite the crap show, and no one was amused.
