Been buying points for AZ for 5 going on 6 years now. Got my loyalty point also, looked at what I think is a realist area to draw with these points. Was thinking Area 27 late rifle. Looking for a quality hunt even if I have to wait a few more years, only thing I am worried about is that my dad is 62 and I he may not wait 6 or 8 more years to do this hunt, is there something else out there that I am missing or is this a doable draw.

Did you take an AZ hunters safety class yet?
May be worth your time to do so, another permanent bonus point for all species. That's a big advantage depending on what tag you're after.
IMO/E late elk tags are pretty good, but require some homework/scouting. I got some great help from a friend in AZ...and caught some good luck with both of the late tags I had.

Jan 9 is your only chance to get the hunter ed point and have it in place for the 2016 Elk draw. It will fill up in the next week or two if it's something you are interested in.
