Someone wants to trade me this rifle for my 300 I have for sale. Any thoughts or experience with the rifle and/or round?

CMMG makes good stuff. High quality ARs. My CMMG M4 LE 5.56 shoots around MOA with several loads, with no mechanical issues. I can’t tell you about that particular model, though.

6mm ARC is the 6.5G necked down. It will give you similar to .243 ballistics out of the AR platform. It’s a really good little round, but not sure about how available factory ammo is for it since it is no longer the newest kid on the block. If you handload then you are GTG

You can from 6arc from 6.5 Grendel but the 6mmARC is a shorter case dimensions so you have to trim quite a bit of brass. 6mmARC brass is easy to get now so no need to mess with it now.Screenshot_20260614-211319.png

I shoot 6mmARC in a Howa Mini. It is a great round and fairly easy to load. CFE223 and LeverEvolution are the big powders used. Maybe for very heavy bullets you can use something like Varget. Hornady has published for both AR and Bolt. I shoot 106TAP bullets and have killed 3 deer with them out to 250 yards.

Reloading is fairly easy. ARC and Grendels can form a "belt". I actually ended up getting a "belt buster" because I was getting some serious problems. It mostly solved the issue but I think using high quality brass (Alpha Munitions) is my next step as well as switching form Hornady to Lee dies. I've read Hornady may be moving too much brass.

I don't know the value of a CMMG AR compared to your 300 so I can't comment on a trade.

I’m a reloader. Thanks for all the information. I’m going to do a FaceTime call and consider it.
