Following up to above post... unfortunately but have rental and still about to hunt just with limited abilities and facilities. Tranny went, still waiting on solution but not promising. In middle of nowhere tows ain't cheap!

Still in it but it's 2 hours from unit and 3 hours from truck! Got lucky and meet some of the nicest people who have saved my arse! Trying to stay positive it could of been way worst, but holy crap is this getting expensive. First day seen handful of smaller bucks (expected more) I have to milk this tag till I get a report from mechanic with a timeline so trying just to have some fun and stay positive.

Barnacles hanging on canal walls or bridge piling you can reach make great bait for sheepshead.

16 days until Alaska! I've never been this excited about anything! Cows are hanging around the lake we'll be dropped off at. 2 giant bulls have been spotted in the area recently too!


And 3 days until Columbia River salmon fishing.

Good luck to all of you guys! Leaving here Labor Day for Louisiana gator hunt and redfish. Only out of state hunt this year. Points again for Wyoming, might have enough for a decent pronghorn area next year. Whitetails here in Missouri from mid September through the end of the year. Looking at replacing/upgrading some gear, primarily a new tent and day pack. Maybe some new hunting clothes.
