Any hockey fans out there?

Anyone ever sit front row behind the bench? Some tickets just dropped at a great price (under 1k) and we are seriously considering it.

Will we regret the views of the game?

It’s neat to do once, but it’s really hard to see the game when you’re down that low. Front row, I prefer to be in the corners - more action there, and you can see more of the game.

We have sat low before and know about the view issues with the glass. Agree that corners are best and in fact i feel like front row corner is probably the best seat in the house where you get to watch the game develop just like the players do.

We have always thought it would be cool to be right at the bench and see the interactions on the bench but im worried about views from coaches and players blocking view.

Doesn't matter. They sold in under an hour as I figured. The price was a steal

I find the scheduling this year unbalanced. The Philly/Hurricanes series is onto game 3 and the Buffalo/Montreal series hasn't even started yet, WTF. You're giving one team maybe 3-5 days rest while their opponent is halfway through their series.

It likely depends on the rink, but the one time I was right behind the bench (during “the lost years” for the Canes when they sucked and were practically giving tickets away), it was really hard to see given all the coaches and staff are standing up right in front of you.

We got the hotel booked and our dogs figured out on who is going to watch them. We are all setup to go to St. Paul except for buying the tickets. Prices are holding steady at about 400-600 for the vast majority of the tickets and there is an inventory of over 2k listed at the moment so we aren't in a rush. Will probably wait until a great deal shows up like those behind the bench and jump when they do.

I predict it will be much close to option 2 rather than 1 and we will see a 4-2 hockey game tomorrow night. Could go either way under that scenario on who wins.
Yup, called it. I actually feel that the Wild was the better team even though the ESPN broadcasters sure didn't. The difference? Wild 0-2 on the power play and the Av's getting 5 chances and cashing in on two of them. All but 1 of those 5 I felt were legit and the refs last night actually really let them play and kept the whistles down except for calling the obvious penalties.

What I want to know is why wasn't boarding called on the Lehkonen hit on Hughes or the one at the end with Mackinnon on Boldy? Sure looks like the definition of boarding to me.

Official NHL Boarding Rule Text (Rule 603)

“Boarding is the action where a player, pushes, trips, or body checks an opponent causing them to go dangerously into the boards. This includes: Accelerating through the check to a player who is in a vulnerable position, driving an opponent excessively into the boards with no focus on or intent to play the puck, or any check delivered for the purpose of punishment or intimidation that causes the opponent to go unnecessarily and excessively into the boards.”

The Boldy one would have put MN on the PP under a 5 min major with a minute to go and could have possibly completely flipped the series.

i thought the same thing when i saw it. no way they're giving their golden boy (actually silver this year - suck it canada) a boarding call, even though it easily could've been.
