Any hockey fans out there?

It’s a win now move, if I’ve ever seen one.
I don’t hate it. Clearly they didn’t value Rossi, Zeev is promising but not a sure thing, Ogren is a good young player, but not indispensable.
You get a 90+ pt Norris Trophy winner, though. I’m excited about it.

Given the dominance of Colorado and Dallas so far this year in the West, I’m not sure it’s the year to mortgage the farm on a cup run.
It's not that they gave up a huge amount its the fact that its for Hughes for 1.5 seasons. Take out Zeev from.the trade and maybe it makes more sense. Idk im scratching my head

Imo the real strength of the wild was their future with so many promising young players. That just took a big hit. Buium in particular had a high ceiling...and Spurgeon and others arent getting any younger. They lose a centerman who already was racking up points in Rossi...Will Hughes take up all that slack? Hope Billy has this one figured out fir the long term, as the rest of the team wasnt up to a win it all now expectation, IMO.

My thoughts.

Rossi isn't a shock. Wild apparently don't like him at all and that really showed by dropping him to the fourth line last playoffs. Probably going to be an improvement for him going forward with an org that actually wants him.

Zeev is a bummer, but trading him for a more experienced goal scorer makes perfect sense. I think we'll regret this in five years when he's near the top of blue line scoring.

Liam hasn't ever impressed me. He's gotten so many chances in the nhl but can't ever do anything worthwhile. So for us I view this is a win as I think he's gonna struggle in this league.

The draft pick is meh, good bargain chip.

Overall, decent trade but going to be tough with only 1.5 seasons left. But they committed to being competitive and this trade shows it. I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt and say it's a good trade. Maybe Hartman will get to center the top line again. I like him better than Yurov personally

I would have much rather this trade been for a top line center than d. Than I'd say it was a good trade
Feels like they're going for d scoring instead. Which based on players on the trade block this was probably the best available at this time.

Which top line center was available? I can't think of any super stars on the block

The problem all year hasn't been the play of our d men. It's the top line not showing up most games (Johan, ek and boldy doing their job on the second).

A lot of top line centers would be available based on what we were willing to give

At this point I just assume we aren't meant for a great center. Cursed
