As a fan, how would you view the news if he signed that $16m contract knowing he has never played 82 games in a season and only 41 last year? and what are you willing to pay him if it is about money for him?
Blackhawks have more cap space than they know what to do with. They have a different timeline than the Wild and are nowhere near Oilers. Oilers are challenging for a cup, Wild should be very competitive for the next 5 years but need a little more (including KK staying healthy), Hawks are probably 3yrs from even sniffing a wildcard slot. No UFA, even at 27-28 yo, is going to look at Hawks without seeing a huge jump in performance. I almost think that if they start to look good this year I can see them trading veterans to improve lottery odds. A guy like Ilya Mikheyev is exactly what the Wild need.

yeah, but there's still 2/3 of the season left in december + postseason. Personally, i'd love if the knights took a chance on Hart. They were proven Not Guilty, so they deserve a second chance.
