My 1st blackpowder Pronghorn! Not my biggest, but proud of him, after stalking to within 120 yds w my open-sighted NEF Huntsmans ( $110 Wal-mart). Made a perfect shot. Killed in Eastern Wyoming.

One of my first OYOAs

Having never hunted Antelope prior, this was my first trip to the west in search of speedgoats. The hunt took place in unit 700 of Montana and after months of scouting and preparation we hit the ground running with the help of our maps and GPS's. I also wrote about this hunt in the magazine FFG earlier this year.

My Buddy's opening morning goat-

My goat the first afternoon. Thanks to some improper judgment by the spotter, I was informed this goat was as big as the goats 25 yards behind them, two of which were easily over 14 inches. I should have trusted my gut and moved to the better goats, but at 400 yards I touched one off and ended up with a dink. Not to mention, post shot the other bucks ran up withing 150 yards adding insult to injury. Still a trophy in my book.....

With a few days to spare, I bought an OTC doe tag. That was the best thing I could have done as we hunted hard and got miles off of the roads. We ended up getting into some very good goats marking them for another trip in the years to come. Not to mention, despite what people say, I think antelope cooked right makes for some really fine eating.

Wyoming 2011

Cold morning ,last day of my hunt , the day before got a little to picky passed on over 20 bucks ,these suckers are hard to judge!!! put the super sneak on 3 different groups missed a big wide one at 167 yrds, my only excuse it was blowing about 50 mph. The last morning this guy ran across the road not 2 miles from camp ,shot him under 100 yrds, great trip tons of antelope ,THANKS WYOMING !!!!

Man, those are some impressive speedgoats! Love hunting these ice-age critters, even if it's in the desert in high temps. Here's my 2012 New Mexico buck. I typically have a huge smile in every harvest photo, however after belly crawling for 2 hours in zero cover in 95 degree heat this was about as much as I could muster. Bmack went on to kill the tremendous buck bedded with this guy (out of my shooting range at the time of the stalk) the next morning. TOUGH hunt for us in 2012....

This is my '06 buck from E. MT. the last week of the season. This was the best buck in the herd that still had his horns. His right horn came off when I picked him up for the photo!
