Antelope comeback?

In my part of NM lots more babies this year. Probably more babies than I can remember seeing. But west side of the state didn't get near the rain we did so I'm curious as to how they did.

NW Colorado population making a slow come back from winter kill a couple years ago. Like above, more fawns this year than last few. Fingers crossed we can get back to the population we were seeing a few years ago

The amount of pronghorn that died in 23 is going to take a good long while to come back. Population declines like that just don't bounce back in a year or two. Plus, IMO, some of the areas are still being hunted too hard.

I wouldn't issue a doe tag in most of the State if I had my way.

My anecdotal observations from this year logging a lot of miles in SW WY is that the herds seem to have recovered some since ’22-23, but they are still about 50% less than what I’d usually see prior to that bad winter. The first two years after the bad winter kill, group sizes were very small (5-10) and lots of those groups were does and yearlings. This year I saw a lot more of the typical groups of 20-25, with most of them having a somewhat mature buck and 2-3 smaller bucks in the group. Just not as many groups as pre-22. Although I’ve not drawn a tag in my unit in 4 years, I’m ok with them keeping tag numbers low until they rebound a bit more.

About the same as NR, maybe a couple bucks cheaper, its an insult to the value the state places on the life of a doe pronghorn.

Cheap enough my wife and I apply for 4 of them to pitch them in the garbage.
Yah, in the 25 years or so years I've been buying tags here have gone up about $12 for deer.
