There's a little lake in the Scapegoat that we head up to a few times each year. The fishing can be hit or miss, but it's a short hike, and while the lake and trail get a lot of pressure, it's a great spot for just a day hike or overnighter. Lots of Grizz, wolf, lion, elk, deer and moose around, and this year we were treated to three goats running through the old burn. Not sure if they were getting pushed by toothy critters or just getting moved by the pack strings. We didn't see any grizz sign, which is rare, and only 1 week old wolf turd. Wet wading the lake felt incredible on a hot day.

The fishing was slow. It's a morning/evening deal during the warmer days (all 12). I'm going to packa float tube next trip to get out to them. Then it will be boom boom.

Carrion,

They're still there. Had one guy tell me he got so frustrated with the fishing, that he rode his horse through the shallows where they were trying to spawn (NO natural reproduction in this lake, it's a false spawn).

Ye-haw.
