Well the annual coues adventure was a tough go this year. Unseasonably warm temperatures, full moon, plenty of moisture, had changed the usual deer behavior. It was tough sledding. Spent the last five days of December chasing coues with a gun and ended up eating my tag. Stayed for the archery hunt and managed to scrounge up a javelina and a deer after 16 days, but what a grind... Anyways a couple photo's...1610EBFD-9E98-4CED-8A32-2CF6667C9443.JPGIMG_0012.jpg

My son and I ate our late December coues tags. Bucks were saw were very small. I’ve hunted Coues before but felt underglassed with my 15s. Very tough to pick out of brush.

Very cool, way to stay with it!
I've hunted coues twice now with my rifle and have been successful, but I'm pretty sure they'd have been safe had I been carrying my bow :) . I did just get back from another successful javelina hunt with my muzzleloader and sure wish I could have hung out in the desert a little longer!
