Got back yesterday from AK, definitely a different bite than normal but we did well.

Total of 864 pounds of fileted fish for 8 guys. Mix of halibut, king salmon, rockfish, and lingcod.

I was able to catch 3 different species of fish that I have never caught, rock sole, yellow eye, and yellow tail rockfish.

Doing some research on the yelloweye, the biggest of the 3 we caught, pretty fair chance that fish was swimming about the time world war one was winding down.

Anyway, a few pics:

Looks like a great trip. I need to take the family to do something like that. Just spent the last 10 min reading about yellow eye. Man that is on interesting fish for sure. Those halibut do they fight? Or is it like reeling in a tire? Thanks for the write up

Halibut fight pretty good.

Very nice! Looks like the weather held out nice for you again. That reminded me that I have some octopus to get out and cook before I forget about it!
