I really want to expand past where I've been in 39 in high hopes of getting a bear with my
bow. Where can I find a map or locations of dead logging roads?

Thank you.

I don't know anything about Idaho but wouldn't the forest service offices have maps with closed roads on them?

Call the district and ask if they have firefighgter maps, or blue line/brown line. Over here we just called them firefighter maps. They have all the old roads as well as topo lines.

Here's a link to an app. It says National Park maps but you can download the USGS maps for the entire country for free. USGS usually have all the old roads.

Thank you everyone! Really appreciate it. Wife turns in her 27 page thesis paper today, so I can finally get out.

Hope you all have a great day and weekend. Thanks again!!

Using https://www.fs.fed.us/ivm/ shows me all the closed roads in the area I hunt. Pretty sweet actually.

Upon further inspection, I know some of these roads go in a but further than mapped, but still cool!

Thanks! Gonna play around with them tonight. First chance I have to spend a couple days in the mountain is coming up a couple days before my birthday. It would be one for the books if I could get lucky enough to see a bear.
