A Pastor Lays His hands on the flock

Hopefully we get the “true and complete story.” If the man made the comments that are claimed I’d have done the same, but ended it with an embarrassing open-hand slap. If it was on-going as claimed I’d have phucked that skinny punk azz up. Those lines are NOT crossed. I’d be pleading self-defense. The Pastor clearly is no Chuck Norris, but gave it a good Sunday try.

I’ll admit, my own reaction might have been no different—I’m not above losing my temper. But a pastor is called to demonstrate a higher level of grace and self-control. Handling the conflict with wisdom and compassion could have changed the outcome entirely.

Pearls before swine from the story that I’ve been reading. Sounds like the family has been harassing the church for a long time.

Well, if the things the kid was doing are true, he deserved an ass beating. If I was his Father, I might have administered myself. mtmuley
When I was 13 I was riding a mini bike and hit a car. My leg was mangled and broken bone behind my knee had cut my artery.
Fortunately it happened a short distance from a hospital in Sacramento as I lost half my blood to internal bleeding.
My dad being retired Navy asked the EMT to take me to McClellan AFB hospital and the paramedic said “He won’t make it”

Then some teenager about 16-17 years old said “Good, hope he dies”. My dad immediately went over to him and started slapping him silly. The kid ran home and brought his dad with him.
The kid’s dad says to my dad “ Did you hit my son ? And when my dad says yes and told him why, that kid got an ass whooping from his dad as well.

What was the outcome? Was it negative? I’d be curious to hear more. The guy seemed fine. There are times for bumps and bruises.

It’s the classic tale of, “Where’s your line?” There has to be lines in stone, and not sand. Making statements to me like that in such a public setting in such a vulgar way… That’s way over a line etched in stone.

People like him will be that way until someone puts them in their place. Clearly that idiot was bold and empowered. He had no respect and no fear. I wonder what he was thinking as the Pastor walked up to him. I bet he thought the Pastor was going to give him a stern lecture.

You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you."Walt Disney
