A few bird pics

The other evening I took my camera with me on my irrigation run. This quail was posing for pics, unfortunately most were badly focused.:W: The pair of mallards is on a small wildlife pond we dug to give critters in the area something to drink, the last couple of years there have been ducks hatched on it and there are a few deer using it as well.

Nice pics! It looks like the California Quail has an aluminum band on the right leg, I'd guess it's a USGS band. Where did you photograph the bird?

We enjoy watching 30-50 Gambel's Quail that come to our feeders every morning and evening.
 
Hummer, I see what you were looking at in these photos, you got me excited thinking maybe it was banded, but after looking at other pics and these zoomed in, it turns out there was not a band. The pic was here on the farm, near the mega-metropolis of Paterson, WA (population maybe 100 ..... if there are a few visitors).
