a dingo ate my baby

That's funny, you live in CA, read the story from a NZ publication for a fox attack in the UK!
No dingo's in the UK, but loads of foxes.
A pair of twins were attacked in their home recently and had a lucky escape.
Trouble is over here the cities have spread out over the years into the countryside, so the foxes went after the easy food source, baby in smelly diaper, yummy!
In the country we keep them under control, in the cities, well need i say anything more?
Tree hugger on the TV this morning said the solution wasn't any form of control but be more careful leaving food in trash can's.
In the country the foxes are on the whole healthy, in the cities loads have mange.
My silenced .22 would make an impact if i were allowed to use them in a built up area.
I suppose trapping is the only way, but the fox is classed as vermin, that makes it illegal to release them once caught (why would you?) but the RSPCA release them in the countryside once caught, and the fox hasn't got a clue how to catch a bunny!
I despair sometimes.
Cheers
Richard
