It has taken me a while to get around to postings this, but I want to thank everyone and anyone who has posted advice on finding and killing elk. I took the fly on the wall method to gaining information out of a good number of you. I sent a few PMs and pitched my plan to a few of you and it worked. I killed a bull of a lifetime during the first archery season in Northern NM. I killed him on the 10th day of hunting and the 12th day out. I did everything right up until I punched the trigger and hit him in the guts, but luck smiled down on me and the arrow took a path that would do the job, just not as quickly as we all want it to. I met some amazing fellow hunters who put their hunt on hold in order to help a complete stranger pack his bull to where I could link up with my dad and his horse.
