just getting started with a new rifle and with the scarcity of components maybe there are more tips than I’ve been able to find.

What are your best recipe combinations of 6.5prc ingredients?

I’m starting with 139 scenar RL26 adg (gunwerks) brass and 210m primers

You’re a legend here put out what your looking for we’ll rally around you to get you what you need. Compared to the good ol boys I ain’t got nothing but I have a lot.

The load for my 6.5PRC uses 57.2gr RL-25 behind the 127LRX ignited by Fed215 at 2.895". It clocks 3185fps out of a 24" barrel.

3020 FPS out of a 24” barrels . Christiansen Arms Mesa.

Slight primer crater & a teeny extractor mark on some cases. Prob max in this rifle.
Easy ejection.
Shoots 1/2”

rel26 130 berger and cci lr mag 59gr, 3080fps holds .6moa out to 700yards,,,,, the coyotes and deer and antelope hate it,,,,,,,,,,,

Kurt you should be able to find a great load +/- 57-59gr. of H1000. It shot very well in mine with the same components you are using.
Rl26 was quite a bit faster in my rifle and I have not seen any temp. issues. I definitely had stability issues with Rl22, but have not seen anything with 23 or 26 in either of my rifles.

I have loads for both H1000 and H4831sc with 143 ELD-X and recently 139 Scenar, H4831 is a bit slower but works just fine. For both bullets in Hornady brass I top out in the 57gr range with H1000 and CCI 200. ~54gr is a sweet spot for me with H4831sc. Velocity for H1000 and 139 is just above 3,000fps with a 24" barrel.

For the seekins right; what are your thoughts on the carbon magazine?

I'm also at the beginning stage with the PRC. It's taken some time to gather components. I just finished loading up the first batch to test. I also got a few boxes of Hornady factory loads in 143 ELDX. I've heard the ELDX accuracy from factory is fantastic, but likely won't use in the field.
One thing I've heard from a couple guys is a preference for large rifle primers over magnums, which I'm going with because that's what I got. Nosler brass was all I could find. Here's what I'm trying out at a few different seating depths. I've had good results with 130 Accubonds in a CM, but unable to find any right now. Hoping the Hammers are the ticket
  • 124 Hammer Hunters with 56.5 gr of RL 23
  • 124 HH with 57 to 59 gr of RL 26
  • 129 Nosler ABLR with 57-58.5 gr of RL 26
  • 127 Barnes LRX with 55-56 gr of RL 26

Gordon's Reloading Tool (think open source Quickload) suggests:
57.5 grains of RL26 as a max load 3058fps @58500psi
59.5 grains of H1000 as a max load 3027fps @57700psi

This is open source data that is used a guide so tread lightly

i have 32 lbs of rel 26. 16 of 4831 and 16 of 4350, no 1000, just bought 2 of the howa carbon stalker 6.5 prc, what a nice light rifle , waiting on scopes, i have many many many 139 scenars, 130 and 140 bergers,

I've only shot 147's in mine, but it's another data point. Also if you ever wanted to try a handful to see how they do I'm well stocked.

The load I hunted with was 56.3gr of R26 from a 24" barrel. Hornady brass. It went 3030 to start and 3060 after the barrel sped up. It didn't show classic pressure signs, but with that velocity there has to be plenty. I'd back down if I ran that again, but will be using H1000 for the foreseeable future as that's what I've got right now. It never shot a group as big as 1/2" @ 100, but those were all just 3-5 shot confirmation groups.

Adg brass, 215 m, 58.3 grs h1000, 156 berger @2.95” , 10 shot SD of 4. 2901 avg vel. That’s with 50ish rds down the barrel so hoping to get closer to the 3k mark with retumbo after it’s broke in.
