308 Elk Loads

150 Barnes TSX when I reload. 150 Federal "blue box" soft points when I don't.

My son shoots 165 grain Nosler Accubonds. If the Trophy's shoot well in your rifle you are good to go.

The .308 is not a high-velocity round, so bullets stay together pretty well. I have a Model 600 Remington that loves 165 grain Hornadys pushed to 2650 fps. My kids killed a couple of elk with it and the bullet performed perfectly. Actually, I would prefer a Nosler Partition of the same weight. Partitions are made to expand at low or high velocity and stay together well. If you use the all-copper bullets, you may have expansion issues if you stretch the range due to low velocity. If you are shooting close shots, the 180 grain Hornady interlocks would be hard to beat, too.
