2nd rifle OTC hunt about to begin.

And so it begins. After months of preparation, e scouting, even a trip to the unit to hang trail cameras, it's time to load up. There's 3 of us headed out for an otc hunt in an area where we've only archery hunted in the past.

I've been wondering what kind of snags we'd run into. I woke up and drank my coffee Sunday morning only to have the pain of someone stabbing my jaw with an ice pick. A quick trip to the dentist this morning revealed an abscess. I have a pile of antibiotics, advil, and whiskey loaded up to get me through.

We'll update the post off and on as the hunt plays out. It won't be live, but it'll be updated anyway. Now it's time to load the truck and wait for our morning departure.

We'll be contributing this year for sure. I'm used to full contact turkey hunting on MS public land, but I'd hate to put those tactics into play up there.

Kinda depends on what part of the state you’re in. But it definitely can get “western” out there during second rifle season.
