I picked up some 110 gr Hornady ELD-X bullets and curious if anyone has suggestions on powders for load development. 26" barrel 10 twist. None of the manuals I have list that bullet.

I'm thinking to try H1000, H4831SC and IMR 4350 because of the long barrel. W760, IMR 4895 and IMR 4064 are also available to me.

Before loading up I will get Hornady load data from them but would like to get a short list of powders in mind.

Thank you.

Your 4350s and 4831s are going to be where it's at for that weight range in a 25-06. 90s to 100s I tend to favor IMR4350. Heavier bullets I've had good luck with IMR4831 but H4831 is a good one too. 110 gr I'd try both and see what you get.

Thanks all. I'll try IMR 4350 and H4831SC since that is what I have on hand.

It may take awhile but I'll post results when I have them.

Ladder test results. This 26" barrel produces about 200 FPS faster than the Hornady book numbers near max load. No pressure signs however I'm curious if this is getting too hot?

I'm planning on poking around between 53.6 and 55.1 to get some group info.

For fun I put together 3 rounds with 117 Sierra Game Kings and 56 grains of H1000 which gave ~3000 fps. Too bad #3 was a little high

Will look more into this combo too.

I always had good results with 4831 and RL22 with 117 Sierras and 115 NBTs. I bought some 115 Berger’s and tried H1000 after talking to Bergers tech support. 58.0 grains is a pretty common load. It gives me 3090 with excellent accuracy out of a 24” Bartlein 1-10 twist.
The ELDX factory ammo is really accurate out of my rifle and worked well on the deer I shot with it.7DE03563-19BE-40E3-9852-8811AD46CB87.jpeg

I use the Hornady 117gr inter lock in my 25-06. Nothing spactular, just kills things without ruining a lot of meat! Very accurate too!
