22-250 favorite powder

Does anyone have a favorite powder for 22-250? I'm going to load 62 gr. Barnes. I have a bunch of listed powder for the caliber, but I'll be out of bullets before trying most of them.

Thats a long bullet.

I have always used H380. Lots of people like varget. When I was load developing it was tough to find so I never played with it

Varget is one I have a few pounds of along with 4166, H and IMR 4350 Staball 6.5 and a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

I use H-414 but it has been discontinued. I believe the burn rate is the same as win 760. H-380 has also been good as well as 4064. I'll use up the H-414 but it will take a while I have 10+ pounds.

My 22 250 and 62 gr Varmageddon loves Varget. It is not necessarily fur-friendly, but they're dead!

IMR 4064. Have shot it out of multiple 22-250's. Will hate to see when I run out of it.

4064 and Varget are very similar burn rates. If you have Varget I would start there

I loaded some 60 grain hornady spitzers with blc 2 i had left over from 2019, and I bought some win 760 to try. both shoot well. I like the won 760 because it can be loaded in a lot of calibers including 270 win and 300 win mag.
Ive used magnum primers with both because i only keep one rifle primer around. Works well. I like hornady load data. They know what works with their bullet and publish what gives the best accuracy. They have a downloadable free manual if you do not have the printed version. Im using a 1 in 14 twist m77 from 1999 if it matters.

22- 250, Varget and Sierra 1365 bullet are a recipe for success.

I always used to use 4064, now I use Varget with 55 and 60 gr bullets.

I’d still like to rebarrel to 1:7 some day and try some 88s with 4350.
