Wife and I have been watching the Olympics between house chores today (moved 2 cord of firewood in the morning).
Mixed biathlon has been my favorite event today. The men part of the mixture was ok but the women made the event exciting. There was a pack of 4 women at the head of the teams. Other teams were a minute or more behind. French woman drives past them hard and creates an 18 second gap. She hits her 10 shots with no misses. Last women take off fighting for silver or bronze unless France chokes. France didn’t. She expanded her gap a little and hit her 10 shots with no misses. Impressive. Other three countries come to the last standing shoot with everyone knowing that if they shoot well, they medal. Italy doesn’t miss - silver. Germany missed one and perfect shooting Norway missed 2. Germany gets bronze. The first French woman should be a force in the individual biathlon events.
I watched the woman downhill knowing about Vonn. Twice I heard her scream loud enough to be above hill noises as they moved her. Horrific. I hope she recovers well. It may/should be a career ending event. Hurrah for Breezy for winning gold.
Watching curling now waiting for live coverage. I still don’t understand the rules.
