2026 Winter Olympics

Wife and I have been watching the Olympics between house chores today (moved 2 cord of firewood in the morning).

Mixed biathlon has been my favorite event today. The men part of the mixture was ok but the women made the event exciting. There was a pack of 4 women at the head of the teams. Other teams were a minute or more behind. French woman drives past them hard and creates an 18 second gap. She hits her 10 shots with no misses. Last women take off fighting for silver or bronze unless France chokes. France didn’t. She expanded her gap a little and hit her 10 shots with no misses. Impressive. Other three countries come to the last standing shoot with everyone knowing that if they shoot well, they medal. Italy doesn’t miss - silver. Germany missed one and perfect shooting Norway missed 2. Germany gets bronze. The first French woman should be a force in the individual biathlon events.

I watched the woman downhill knowing about Vonn. Twice I heard her scream loud enough to be above hill noises as they moved her. Horrific. I hope she recovers well. It may/should be a career ending event. Hurrah for Breezy for winning gold.

Watching curling now waiting for live coverage. I still don’t understand the rules.

I love the Olympics, I watch every minute I can.

I feel a bit bummed for Breezy- her big moment was overshadowed by the Vonn situation today, but she crushed it.

Local dude is a really good speed skater, will be rooting him on too.

Vonn definitely gave it her all, no quit at all. Broken leg is what the news is saying. Same leg as the ruptured ACL.

That may have been a blessing that is was the ACL side, because she has a partial knee replacement in her other knee.

Yes the US Ski Team has traveling surgeons and medical team, I know a guy who used to hold that position. He had his main clinic in Taos, cool guy and would have been an awesome job.

He just retired from practicing a few years ago. Really nice guy, unexpectedly so.

Those Olympic guys are soooo serious though. It’s actually a pretty good time with a couple drinks in you and some good tunes playing

Those Olympic guys are soooo serious though. It’s actually a pretty good time with a couple drinks in you and some good tunes playing

I think the drinking is really the point. Kinda like bowling.
