2025 Garden!

Pulled the peppers. They were just loaded with aphids. Nothing was producing. Now get to go nuked the whole house and ground.
Made choke cherry jelly and raspberry jam this morning. Have some huckleberries thawing out some good friends brought us last year. A good year to clean out the freezers.
Canning green beans on Sunday morning and making jam.
I’ve never had aphids on peppers. Aphids attack my brassicas especially Brussels sprouts. I gave up on sprouts because the aphids always won.

We’re still trying to get enough red raspberries for jam. I thought we had enough yesterday after picking until my daughter said she ate a bunch of reds for breakfast. We’re still a few ounces short. It’s hard to be upset that’s she eating fresh berries but I asked her to skip two days so we can get a batch of jam.

Wife has enough cucumbers saved for pickles this weekend.

I need to look at the broad beans. They may be ready.

Otherwise, garden is in a slow stage until canning tomatoes and corn start to ripen.

And so it begins. Time for some zucchini bread.

Neighbors accidentally nuked some of my tomatoes after they sprayed their lawn for weeds. That took me a bit to get over but I did finally get my first cherry tomato yesterday.

It's mostly been a flower year so far. I used to think flowers were a waste of time and now I plant them all over in the garden.

Those zucchini are a different color than I've ever grown or seen here. Maybe just a different variety?

Red raspberry freezer jam finally occurred. Wife measured the berries and has enough for a second batch. She was missing some ingredients for the pickles. Pickles will happen in the next few days.

We have been picking onions as we need them.

Broad beans need picked. We’ll do them later this week.

Our tomatoes are really starting to go crazy. Grabbing a few handfuls a day at this point.
A few different varieties of cherry tomatoes for grab and go snacks. My Purple Cherokees and Old German's are taking their sweet time. Doesn't look like I'll get more than a few of each, which I'm a little disappointed with.

Feed the tomatoes Wild Bill!
I really like tomato boom from Zamzows made in Boise, Idaho. You can go to Dr.JimZ.com
Also "Chicken Soup for the soil" is a game changer.
