Spent the weekend converting our weed filled small gardens. Ripped up most of the old beds and in the process of prepping for planting. Will till up the whole garden and plant rows instead of the small gardens that are difficult to till and maintain. Hauled about 25 yards of mulch to go around the outside of the garden and once tilled the mulch will go between rows.

I thought someone said weekends were supposed to be for relaxing. Must have missed a memo somewhere when I was a kid.

I planted snap peas, radish, beets, two types of carrots, and a border of giant Zinia and Marigolds this morning. Now I just need some decent weather in Grand Valley of Western Colorado.

Still a bit of snow in the garden...

Hoping the high temps melted it all and it's gone when I get home from work tonight.
I planted potatoes, onions, garlic, lettuce and spinach 2 weeks ago when it was 87 degrees. Those plants have had about 9 inches of snow fall and melt on them in those 2 weeks. The first onions and spinach were popping through yesterday.

I have a bunch of stuff growing in the garage for now but I'm definitely looking towards planting more in the ground!

Well, it’s year three in TN for us…year TWO for a garden. We’re starting small…our first garden was just herbs in pots…and four pots of tomatoes.

This year we expanded the pots a bit…added a full 6x6 raised bed and a couple more pots.

5 different types of tomatoes, 5 different types of hot peppers from Anaheim’s and Hatter‘s to Tabasco and Bonnets. Oh, and five different types of basil. There’s no such thing as too much basil in an Italian house.

The herb garden is alive and well…and, just for giggles we got a mushroom log. And, honestly, I cannot believe how good the shrooms are!

We've got all sorts of shit going on. We have starts, everything from heirloom beans, cucumbers/zucchinis, saffron, quinoa, potatoes, corn and more.

Finally we have landscapers out now that have built us some new redwood boxes just off our patio, and we are going to expand our planting space in our garden by 40% as we pulled our fruit trees into the yard and will replace them with metal boxes.
