I glanced at this pronghorn this morning on my way back from hunting sheep, where I got fogged out of any glassing opportunity.
My first thought on a glance at about 100 yards was no, good thing I took a second look when this buck turned. A quick glance at several hundred yards would have been useless, in particular from a front view. I left him right away this morning and went in search of a different buck that Greenhorn and I chased around a week or so ago.
Went back to get some pictures:
After more than a glance, and some careful observation through the spotter...I figured with the last 21 days of October devoted to solid sheep hunting, it would be foolish to pass this buck.
Haven't taped it other than its just shy of 16" and bases are 6 3/8.
