First Time Antelope Hunt for my son

My 12 year old son, Sam, was fortunate to draw an antelope tag this past season. Our hunt had a few ups and downs, like most hunts do, but it all came together in the end and we were pretty happy thrilled with the whole adventure. Put together a short video from the hunt if anyone wants to watch...

    Runaway Horses and Bugling Bulls

Thank you! Yep, I will be disconnecting it from now on! Turns out my alternator was going bad. Stranded me and my daughter on the side of the highway while coming home from an antelope hunt! LOL.... All power to the truck completely dead!

    Runaway Horses and Bugling Bulls

100%. Got tired of fighting with the regular ones. Then, the orange one's cross bolt bent and had a washer fall off. Put it back on in the mountains with para cord and haven't had to touch it since. That's been around ten years or so!

    My 2025 Solo Elk Adventure

For about a decade now, I have been hunting mostly solo, and really enjoy my time alone in the mountains. I used to spend a lot of time writing up my adventures and posting it to a forum after season was over. These days, instead of a written story, I enjoy editing the footage from my hunts into...

    Runaway Horses and Bugling Bulls

For many years now, I have been venturing into the mountains each fall, with only my horses for company. This past season was no different, accept for a few unexpected issues along the way. Most importantly there were plenty to bugling bulls, and it was a great adventure in God's country! If you...

    A Hunt to Remember

This past fall I had one of the most memorable evenings I've ever had in the tree. I received permission on a new piece of property after season had already opened and had to learn it on the fly. A few days of scouting, some hard work putting stands, and then hunting the fringes, and I was super...

My 12 year old's first with a bow

Now that season is over, I am catching up on some editing. My 12 year old son, Sam, has 2 years of rifle hunting under his belt, but this was his first season being able to hunt with a bow. I decided to upgrade his bow for his birthday in April and we got it dialed in quick. When season rolled...

    My 25' Archery Antelope Adventure

Short but fun video to put together. Had a bit of an adventure with a prairie thunderstorm rolling in on me, but that just adds to the adventure, and a makes for a memorable hunt! Hope you enjoy.

Daddy / Daughter Adventure with the 6.5 CM

My daughter Gracie and I both drew antelope tags and were fortunate to make good use of them and have a good adventure. Hunts with the kids are so much fun! Hope you enjoy!

    Big 3x3 muley buck

After a week of chasing this particular buck with my younger two kids, my oldest daughter Justice was able to get out and finally lay this buck to rest. Very fun hunt, and a tough young lady braving single digit temps to lay this mature buck to rest. Hope you enjoy it!

My 11 year old found a good one!

This was from this past 2024 season. Very few things are more enjoyable than taking your kids out hunting and fishing. It's even better when they get a good one!!!

    Thermal recovery drones?

As of now they are legal in MT. Secondly, just like a gun, car, or a hammer, they can be used for bad or good. If you want to debate drone ethics, please start a different thread. I am only interested in finding more info on them as a potential to help recover downed or wounded game. If you...

    Thermal recovery drones?

Obviously some could do that, but they are also a great way to recover animals that might otherwise not be recovered. However, the point of this post isn't to debate the ethical merits of a thermal drone. it is to see if anyone might have used one and what they would recommend purchasing.

    Thermal recovery drones?

have really enjoyed watching the thermal drone deer recoveries on YT. I am a proficient tracker, and believe that tracking and recoveries to be a strong suit of my hunting, but I can definitely see the benefit of a thermal drone for those poor hit scenarios. Has anyone on here bought one...

    Huge bodied Buck

I don't, but I think he was well north of 250 for sure! I'm 6'2" and about 260, and he was bigger than me.

    My kiddo's 2024 Buck

Yeah man.... She is such a mild kid, so she always surprises me when she toughs it out like this. Her older sister, who is pretty strong herself, was telling me recently that "Grace is really strong Dad!". I didn't believe her, so I had her and arm wrestle Grace along with my youngest (a boy)...

    My kiddo's 2024 Buck

Out of my 3 kids, I always thought my daughter Grace would be the least likely to really enjoy hunting. Gracie is a very sweet, gentle, kind, and deep thinking girl, and even though I exposed her to hunting at a young age, I always figured it wasn't going to be part of her personality. Turns out...

    Montana General Season Structure Proposal

The decline of western hunting is sad indeed. Some absolute Giants were taken in Western MT back in the day….

    Montana General Season Structure Proposal

That is where I disagree, what are you basing that on? I don’t believe you can definitively say that. Start with NR’s first and then go from there. If residents also need to be subsequently impacted, then let’s have that discussion at that time. But implement changes that affect nonresidents...
