Same here.
Welcome maustin to an awesome place to live and explore. I do all my own bow work as well but needed a pro shop for a warranty issue last year. Danny at Archery Central was great and doesn't come off like he's Joe Bitchin' as some bow shops can.
Sweet find and thanks for posting the response you got. The older I get and more time spent in the woods the more I feel connected to those who used that point you found.
Absolutely. If 55 is comfortable no need to go to 60. Better to draw with less movement, hold a while at draw and be accurate than have those 10 extra fps.
Your archery set-up is fine. Unit 35 is a ways south from elk city, maybe you were thinking west of elk city in unit 15? Either way there are elk through out either unit. Curious as what that RMEF elk finder is because both units are entirely elk country. Good luck
I have a 300wsm that I shoot 1k yards with regularly. A few years back I took detailed notes on when the accuracy/velocity changed. Totally changed my cleaning routine, I shot it yesterday and round count since it's last cleaning is in the 70's.
I'm sure barnes or another copper bullet may be...
Not sure where you are headed but in Boise we have some cooler rain coming through this week. Should be a perfect time to be out in the elk woods. Of course it's supposed to warm up again when I head out next Friday. Good luck
Shot this bull Monday 9/5 Idaho public land OTC. Backpacked into the area for several days with my son, the elk were quiet until rain came in Sunday night. Jake recorded video on his phone which was helpful because I could hear the hit and pass through. In the video I had a slightly different...
Cold rain flipped the switch Sunday night and bulls kept us awake at all hours. Stuck a 5pt chasing a cow yesterday morning as we were stalking another bull that was bugling a raking. Good luck out there.
Thank you Randy, these videos will be invaluable for educating people about the issue. Easy to watch common sense explanation.
Throw in some footage of Federal managed land vs State land here in Idaho for shock and awe factor. My state can't manage land for crap. Well, they can I guess...
Yep nothing wrong with box store arrows. Cabelas are Beman, Sportsmans uses Gold Tip and I'm sure Bass pro's are fine too. The shafts are made long, cut in pieces and then measured so a .001/.003/.006 can be from the same blank. There is way more to accuracy than a few thousandths of an inch...
These same few people in office are telling tens of thousands of us to go pound sand because we can't get united enough to give them a swift kick in the rear.
