Guys
Many of you know that I am lucky enough to work in sales in the sporting goods industry. In addition.to getting to go on some amazing hunts i also end up with lots of great optics samples each year.
I have a PILE of scopes, binos, rangefinders, themal, red dots, magnifier and spotters...
Can anybody recommend a good place in or near Billings to get a bear hide tanned? Talked with Rimrock in Park City and he isn't taking hides for tanning until October.
Little long but thought you guys might enjoy the video of the bear I took in B.C. a couple weeks ago.
Waited as long as I could for this big guy to give me a broadside shot but at 12 yards I decided he was as close as i was gonna let him get. He didn't make it far and is for sure my best...
Had the opporutnity to check another country off my hunting bucket list this past week, and spent a great week in Sonora chasing Mule Deer........ Yeah my job is pretty cool.... LOL.
While not a physically challenging hunt.... it wasn't easy. Countless hours in the high rack and still hunting...
When our now adult daughter moved out last year and took "her" labrador with her, Mama insisted we get a new puppy. After much arm twisting and convincing.....I finally conceded. Enter Mr. Mac Daddy French.
For Mama it was love at first sight!
"Kind of" in the market for a fairly inexpensive ATV or side-by-side. Not in a hurry, but could use one at my lake place and for ice fishing.
Trying to build a shop / cabin at the lake without borrowing much money, so funds are tight. What I do have is TONS of brand new in the box optics...
Another great weekend in the elk woods in the books! Friday night and Saturday morning were action packed, and if it weren't for some bull fever / poor shooting on my part I would be posting a pic of me withh the worlds biggest and oldest 5x5.... but apparently I suck.
Between Friday night...
My daughter Cassidy has had quite a year. She was able to take her first bull elk in October and it was a dandy! She was also lucky enought to draw one of the very limited either sex bison tags for West Yelowstone, which was lucky enough. But her luck is so good, we even got the snow needed...
As I believe I mentioned in an earlier thread.... my daughter drew a West Yellowstone buffalo tag.
We have been busy with other tags so far, but with the snow flying and the season opening next week it is time to get serious about planning. I have scouted all the likely areas throughout the...
Another great day in the woods with my little girl. It was a great day even before we belly crawled 400 yards into a big herd. Got even better when little deadeye anchored this super cool bull in his bed.
Looks to have 3 distinct pedicles...but I guess I'll know more when I get the head...
With September gone and this years tag punched, I was strolling down memory lane and thought you guys might enjoy the video of my 2008 bull. Haven't shared this one here before.
The crew and I went 4 for 5 this weekend with 3 bulls and 1 cow. I got the ball rolling Friday night when this small 6×6 lost his mind and tried to run me over after the first cow call. Happened so fast I completely lost my s#^t and airballed at 12 yards. I have killed a bunch of elk with my...
What is everybody's thoughts on this.... seeing more and more of these lately. You already can't drive on these sections...honestly what harm is it doing for an on foot bird hunter to walk the edges field trying to kick up some huns...hunt.... or heck even a big game hunter who carries the...
I've tagged out earlier in the season before but don't think i have ever had less time in the field before connecting. Work and family obligations didn't allow me to get out much yet, but got lucky and found a good one and it all came together.
Set elk blinds all morning and on the way back to...
