And this chart should worry everyone. Gas prices are up, but are artificially low due to tapping into (further depleting) the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, currently at its lowest point since 1983- when the population was 65% of today. Expect this trend to continue...- R.K.

Heat kills salmon in the rivers. But they see plenty leaving the systems. It’s been pushed repeatedly that it is “open ocean conditions”, which is a bullshit term that at least says it’s not in the rivers. It is entirely to do with trawling. But that means you got the advantage of the depreciation being deducted from your income over the period you deducted it. Typically that wipes out the highest marginal income tax bracket (22-24% for most people). Even then- depreciation that is recouped during the sale is only hit at 25% tax...- R.K.

Berry Crop Failure
Chokecherries around me got hit hard, but there are still a couple hanging on. Hopefully the stuff higher up didn't bloom as early and fared a bit better- was really looking forward to picking a bunch for jam/syrup or other things.- R.K.

I’ve tried it a few times (twice again on Sunday)- takes about as long as the video, and there’s always some gunk that flies off into the walls or counter. I can fillet one at least twice as fast as that, and the fillets cook quicker (plus my wife will eat them). For my setup, a 4” knife and...- R.K.

The local warm water fishery is infested with perch. The population has absolutely exploded, and the biologists are hoping people will take thousands of them to help balance things out. I brought home 15 between 7-8” in about 20 minutes of effort, after spending most of the day chasing walleye...- R.K.

Things we take for granted
Basic necessities of life and how they’ve become conveniences. Food on every corner, running hot and cold water on demand, climate controlled shelter. Most of us don’t ever think about any of that until it breaks. AC seems to be the most common of those.- R.K.
