You have to measure them before they stiffen up as it is easier to twist the head around.

Only in the field if waiting for the Pack horses. But usually not since I won't take a measuring tape with me.

I can figure most of my scores on my fingers, so a tape is not necessary. Mine are scored by the weight that goes into the freezer.

While waiting for Mike, I sat there in awe and reflected on the many great hunting trips I have had with great friends. When he finally arrived, the back-slapping and hugging ensued. Mike kept saying, “Holy crap…look at the mass on this giant!” Several minutes later we finally busted the tape out and found that he carried 43 inches of mass, was nearly 30 inches wide, and scored just over 220!
