Got my Wiggy's bag. Got my Nikon spotter. Just ordered my Kifaru Longhunter, and my wife, God Love her, is buying me a set of 8x20 Zeiss Victory's for my birthday later on this month.
It's all come together. Now all I need is my Kifaru Paratipi & Stove combo...

Yup, you're getting there, I just called Kifaru today about the new catalogue and also about the loss of the message board; they say they're working on it.

I am replacing my Feathered Friends "Great Auk" light down & G.T bag with the new Wiggy's K. model; a Longhunter and Paratipi are in my future, too.

I'm thinking about selling some of the rifles I have, classic, minty Belgian Brownings, Mannlichers, etc. to get the loot to buy a "Rambling Rifle" in .338-06, what do you think of those?

I'll tell you what I think- I think you and I may have been separated at birth...
I'm thinking about a rambling rifle, as well. The older I get, the heavier my .375 H&H seems to get. I like your calibre choice, as well.
I'm also considering the Wiggy's Kifaru bag, but I haven't tried out my Ultralight, yet. I must say, though- for a dyed-in-the-wool down+GT bag man such as yourself, it says alot that you are even considering a Wiggy's bag...

Nothing like having good gear.

I still lack on the a top of the line sleep bag and tent but I can get by on mediocre for the stuff I do now.

I have no desire for more rifles. I wish I'd just settle on one and stick with it. The 300 will do it all, but i'm attached to my 30-06 and 270.

Yukon Hunter and Kutenay, have a question for both of you I have seen other posts mentioning the Rambling Rifle in 338-06...is it an ultra light rifle or is it the caliber that sets it apart? I have never heard of the rifle could you tell me more about it?

arff- Kifaru used to sell the Rambling Rifle, but no longer do. However, this guy offers a very similar rifle with all the same attributes as the RR. They are similar enough that if I had to guess, he was the one building them for Kifaru.
