So a couple days after Christmas I was lucky enough to take some time off work to go on a short road trip and attempt to hone my backpacking/dirtbagging game.
Did some skiing in New Mexico
Spent nye in a $48 motel room in Albuquerque.
Spent 3 nights in my tent in the superstition wilderness outside Phoenix.
Enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Got a couple cool pics.

That motel room was the crux of the trip!
No joke, as I was checking in, the staff was in the process of throwing out some extremely intoxicated lady. Once they got her out the door the desk clerk informed me that they were no longer renting rooms to Albuquerque residents like her because they’d been finding needles all over the rooms.
It made sleeping outside with the mountain lions a lot easier the next night.

I stayed in a $56/night room 3/4mile from ABQ. Smelled very distinctly like crack.
