Someone on another hunting forum I am on posted this article. I thought it worth posting here. I was surprised how much of the revenue to support the department came from preference point sales.

All that Non Resident revenue adds up. We're just shy of 47% of the Dept revenue overall. Undoubtedly more if you consider the NR contribution to PR Funds and such.

Here is where they spend all that money. I particularly like the program level revenue and cost breakdowns near the end of this annual report. Helps show what programs pay for themselves and then some (looking at you elk) and what are drags on the system (looking at you sport fishing).

Sport fishing, bighorn sheep, bird hunters, lion, bear...none of those pay for themselves.

Elk and pronghorn are the money makers...
